Monday Night Practice, October 26, 2009

Six guys showed up. We had a good practice. We sang Yuletide Favorites and several others. Also some polecats. Everybody plans to sing at the November 21 gig at Schlegel's. It should be a lot of fun!

They are the Four Winds Quartet from the Fostoria Chapter. They are a great guys. They invited me to have dinner with them in the Bistro restaurant, a very nice place, with excellent food. We even sang a few Polecats at the table. The other diners got a kick out of the "performance". One couple even asked that we sing a few Irish songs for them. And we did.

Three of us showed up, but we knew the other guys were out of town. We practiced some of the Yuletide Favorites and called it a night. We're looking forward to next Monday night with a few more folks in attendance.

Well, it's obvious to me that we just gotta get some kids interested in barbershop. Maybe we just have to go to an assembly at a couple of the local high schools and let them hear barbershop. Then maybe try to get them to watch performances like this on YouTube. I think this is fantastic.
