Thursday Night Practice, August 20, 2009

Thursday night's practice got off to a questionable start. The Carver Center was locked. At first we were going to go to Schlegel's Coffee House and practice, but then Dan Lusher arrived and said we could practice at Tabernacle Baptist. So that's what we did. Even with only 5 guys, we had a great time. We sang quite a few of the BarberPole Cat songs along with several other songs we know. We also had a great time with a couple of new songs we're learning: Under The Boardwalk and When I'm 64! We're looking forward to adding those to our repertoire. After singing Keep the Whole World Singing, we sang a few tags and called it a night. It's great to be a Barbershopper in Chillicothe, Ohio!

Xenia Hospitality Chorus Corn Roast 2009

Saturday, August 1 was the date of the Xenia Hospitality Chorus's annual Corn Roast. Unfortunately I was a little late to get signed up for one of the quartets. They had no more need for basses. Just one more reason for me to start learning another part for the Barberpole Cat songs! The picture at right shows the sweet corn being boiled. It was delicious!

The setting for the Roast was beautiful and you can see from a couple of the pictures. There was penty of shade.
